Child Health Profiles provide a snapshot of child health and well-being for each local authority in England using key health indicators, which enables comparison locally, regionally and nationally. Further information is available at http://www.chimat.org.uk/profiles
The profiles are produced by the Child and Maternal Health Observatory (ChiMat) a national public health observatory to provide wide-ranging, authoritative data, evidence and practice related to childrens, young peoples and maternal health.
ChiMat is part of Public Health England (PHE), an executive agency of the Department of Health. PHE has been established to protect and improve the nation’s health and wellbeing and to reduce inequalities. It will lead on the development of a 21st-century health and wellbeing service, supporting local authorities and the NHS to deliver the greatest possible improvements in public health.
